A man in Aberdeen United kingdom charged with causing unnecessary suffering to his dog, admitted injuring his dog by running it to exhaustion.
The 27 years old man had his dog on a lead while he cycled, the dog had fallen down along a footpath after being exhausted and the man had tried to pull the dog along causing it to sustain injuries.
Although the man has admitted to the charge, his lawyer in his defence said that he suffered from autism and attention hyperactivity disorder, his sentencing has been deferred.
For all those who might be considering cycling with their dogs on leads, it might be worth first ensuring your dog is fit by practicing with short intervals and gradually adding distance, because dogs are more used to short bursts of speed than long distance running and also ensure you offer your dogs drinks of water frequently.
However, if you can't be bothered with first training your dog to build up endurance and you really must take your dog cycling, then may I suggest the alternative above.
They should tie him to a car and make him run the distance too, lol
