A Pakistan court has sentenced 10 men to life imprisonment over the 2012 attack on then Pakistani school girl Malala Yousafzai.
Yousafzai, survived an assassination attempt, after she advocated for the right of the girl child to be educated at a time girls were banned from attending school in her home country Pakistan.
In October 2012, gunmen attacked a school bus she was travelling in, asked for her by name, and then shot three bullets at her one of them hitting her on the left side of her forehead. She remained unconscious and in critical condition in the days that followed.
The attack sparked international rage and support, which saw her transported to a UK hospital for treatment. She went on to make a full recovery and become the most famous teenager when she became the youngest ever Nobel Prize winner for her humanitarian works.
The UN special envoy launched a petition in Yousafzai name, this petition has helped lead to the ratification of Pakistan's first Right to Education Bill.
What a positive impact she has made, she will forever be remembered by the girl child in Pakistan. Bravo Malala!
