25,000 White South Africans have signed a controversial petition asking the European union allow them return back to Europe  because they fear they are facing ethnic cleansing.   There are claims that many white South Africans are segregated and living in poverty because of the ANC government's Black Economic Empowerment policy. The man behind the campaign is Rodrigo Herhaus de Campos a Brazilian and he organised the petition because many white South Africans are direct descendants of the European nations that reject them.   There are questions regarding the petition one being if, the white South Africans seeking to return to Europe have rights to return to any European country or they have to specifically identify their roots to move to those specific countries.   One political analyst dismissed the petition and according to him, you could go to where you believe to originally come from but if you investigate further you find you came from somewhere else .

A four-year old girl is in critical condition at a local trauma centre after accidentally shooting herself in the face. The incident happened at a second floor apartment on Monday night in New York, police investigating the incident have recovered a semi-automatic pistol from the apartment and it isn't yet clear whose it is.

The smartphone maker based in Waterloo, Ontario Canada issued a statement over the weekend regarding it's plans to cut its workforce because of changes in its operations which is necessary to make the company profitable again. The Company which began to turn in small profits last year is still faced with a declining overall revenue. Although the smartphone maker wouldn't specify how many are expected to be affected, it did mention that the cuts will affect the people who make the hardware, software, and applications for its phones such as blackberry bold, Classic and Passport At the peek of the company's success it had an estimated 20,000 international employees which over the years have reduced to 7,000 and about half of that population work in Canada.

A hair dresser accused of snipping her boyfriend's penis with a pair scissors has walked free from a Dunfermline Sherriff court after the boyfriend refused to testify in court. 48 years old Helen Smith was accused of grabbing her boyfriend Stuart Cooper's penis during an argument and snipping it with a pair of scissors.   The incident left Mr Cooper hurt, but the court had to acquit Smith of the charges because of her boyfriend's refusal to testify or proceed with the case.

An Air France passenger plane had to be escorted by US fighter jets into New York City where it was made to land and taxi in a remote area away from the terminal at the JFK airport because Mary Land police received an anonymous call that warned of chemical weapons threat to the plane.   The Air France flight from Paris to New York was later cleared to go on the terminal after it became clear that the threat was not credible following a detailed search.   The flight from Jeddah, a Saudi Airline had to go through the same process at the JFK airport after a similar threat to the airline.

A rise in the sexually transmitted disease Chlamydia in school children between ages 12 and 15 has made it necessary to have Health Respect Drop-in Centres in all of Edinburgh's secondary schools which include three Catholic schools according to health officials.   In these centres children as young as 13 can drop in and be handed free condoms and contraceptive implants.   Officials are yet to make clear the kind of advice that will be given these kids especially the younger ones and so it seems many church leaders and parents who have spoken out are not particularly pleased with the decision as they fear they will be left in the dark regarding the choices their kids are making.

Two pharmacies had to be shut down following a raid by the Ministry of Health in Dubai after a regular pharmacy inspection this month. The pharmacies were found to be in violation of federal laws relating to pharmaceutical products as unlicensed drugs such as Sildenafil, a sexual-enhancement drug, Cytotec, an abortion inducing medication and Loperamid, a drug that reduces the effect of the abortion pills were discovered among their stock.   Further investigations revealed the owners of the pharmacies were selling free samples they had obtained from Syria and Germany.

The prolific composer died over 200 years ago in Vienna Austria ( Dec 1791) aged just 35.   Relatives take locks of hair as keepsakes from the bodies of deceased composers and Mozart's hair which is contained in a 19th- century gilt locket was passed from his wife to German conductor Karl Anschutz who passed it to English Composer Arthur Sommervell and one Sommervell's descendent is now the owner of the keepsake.   In 2002 a similar lock of Mozart's hair sold for £38,240

Venezuelans can't wait to get rid of the Bolivar   Just when the UK is working on ways to avoid deflation, Venezuela which has the largest oil reserve in the world and one of the leading exporters of crude oil, is on the brink of hyper-inflation.   Falling oil prices in recent times as well as internal issues has lead to the Venezuelan Bolivar depreciating at a free fall.   The Bolivar at the moment is being exchanged at the rate of 420 per $1. Venezuelans in Caracas have lost faith and no longer think their local currency is worth holding unto.   A Barclay Capital Inc. report projects that the Venezuelan Bolivar could dip as low as 600 per dollar, hence the frenzy to ditch the local currency for the American dollar which many feel is the best way to protect themselves.

15 years for Raheem Bailey   Cocaine disguised as presents for kids  Raheem Bailey's attempt to smuggle cocaine estimated to be worth £5million disguised as children's presents from the Caribbean into the UK was intercepted at the London city airport by the Task Force, Border Force and National Crime Agency.  The 44 year old was sentenced to 15 years in jail and seven of his fellow gang members were sentenced to a total of 82 years. 29-year old Nadim Ahmed who is a police officer in Glasgow was found guilty and sentenced to jail, for stealing his wife's jewelleries, wasting police time and trying to defraud insurance company Direct line for the sum of £11,500.   Giving evidence at the Glasgow sheriff court, Bushra Ahmed the 30 year old wife of Ahmed said she first noticed her jewelleries which included her engagement ring were missing when her sister asked to borrow some.   Ahmed had then said some of his electrical equipment were missing too, suggesting that it was perhaps the work man they hired to do some work at their home who was responsible for the missing items. He said to his wife that being a policeman he would deal with the issue.   Ahmed was however found out after his wife discovered her sets of missing jewelleries stashed in his car with some pawn documents and receipts which suggested he had already pawned some of the valuables.   He denied the charges claiming his wife knew

Police raided a brothel in Munich after being led to believe a prostitute there was in possession of drugs and found more than they were hoping for- this three weeks old lamb called Birke.   The police took the prostitute into custody after finding marijuana amongst her personal possessions but also had to take the lamb into custody.   Little Birke had to be bottle fed by policemen at the station after they heard its tummy rumbling, although the animal felt at home at the station it had to be handed to the animal protection agency.   The prostitute whom it's not clear why she had the lamb has been handed an immediate ban against possessing animals after it was discovered from the state veterinary agency in North Rhine Westphalia that she had a record of keeping animals in inappropriate conditions.

The USA is one of the countries in the world where the capital punishment is still in force, but not all states in the country endorse it and about 18 of it's 50 states have actually banned it. Well, the state of Nebraska is set to become the 19th state in the country to ban the death penalty, after its legislature voted 32-15 to end capital punishment in the state. This is a decision the state's republican Governor Pete Ricketts is not pleased with as he has vowed to veto the decision despite the fact that it might just be a mere formality as the votes to end the death penalty exceeded the 30 or less required for him to have any veto power. This bill will be retrospective meaning the eleven prisoners already on death row will have their sentences converted to life imprisonment. Some of those who voted to have capital punishment banned in the state, did so on religious grounds while some others thought it was just an expensive Government waste.
