Peter Dinklage plays our beloved Tyrion Lannister in the successful HBO TV fantasy series" Games of Thrones".
Dinklage was born with a genetic condition known as achondroplasia which is a form of dwarfism in New Jersey in 1965, to John Dinklage an insurance sales man and Diane Dinklage an elementary school music teacher.
Dinklage who is 4ft 5 in tall once admitted being bitter and angry as he struggled with his condition during his adolescent years, but despite his struggles he was an active member of the drama club at Delbarton School which is a catholic prep school for boys. He later went to Bennington College and after his graduation in 1991, he moved to New York to pursue an acting career.
During an interview with New York Times he was asked by the interviewer if he saw himself as a spokesperson for the rights of little people, to which he replied.
" I don't know what I would say. Everyone's different. Every person my size has a different life, a different history. Different ways of dealing with it. Just because I am seemingly okay with it, I can't preach on how to be okay with it. I don't think I still am okay with it. There are days when I'm not."
Dinklage has been married to theatre director Erica Schmidt since 2005 and together they have a daughter named Zelig who was born in 2011.
