Award winning Hollywood actor Robert De Niro had some bitter truth to dish to graduating students of the Tisch School of the Arts in New York during his speech.
Excerpt from the speech
"... when it comes to the arts, passion should always trump common sense. Yeah you are f**ked. The good news is, that is not a bad place to start." He went on to say other graduates like those from Law and Medicine had better prospects because they will get a jobs, but for those graduates aspiring to become writers, actors, and directors their futures are far from a sure thing.
"... A new door is opening for you, A door to a lifetime of rejection ... its inevitable... how do you cope with it. I hear Valium and Vicodin work."
Hmm, some speech if you ask me.
