A London high court in the UK has ordered a woman to pay her ex partner £39,000 for deceiving him into believing the child they had through IVF was his.
The couple had gone to a hospital in Spain where a sample of the husband's sperm was taken for the IVF treatment, but a few months later the woman went back to the hospital with an ex boyfriend whose sperm was used instead without her husband's knowledge.
The couple who married in 2002 went on to have a child whom the woman led the man to believe was his for six years although the couple separated few months after the birth of the child.
The truth was blurted out to the man when dispute arose over the amount of time he was having with the child.
He was told he wasn't the child's biological father and a DNA test proved it to be the case.
The man sued his ex partner for the damages the humiliation has caused him.
