These strands of hair belonging to world famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is expected to fetch at least £10,000 when they go under the auctioneer's hammer on Thursday.
The prolific composer died over 200 years ago in Vienna Austria ( Dec 1791) aged just 35.
Relatives take locks of hair as keepsakes from the bodies of deceased composers and Mozart's hair which is contained in a 19th- century gilt locket was passed from his wife to German conductor Karl Anschutz who passed it to English Composer Arthur Sommervell and one Sommervell's descendent is now the owner of the keepsake.
In 2002 a similar lock of Mozart's hair sold for £38,240
