Eczema can be managed

Eczema is a long term dry and itchy condition that affects the skin although some cases are genetic, the condition is also believed to be triggered by pollutants being drawn under the skin. Our skins if healthy acts as a natural barrier against environmental pollutants.

Some of us have got very healthy skins which are usually kept soft and supple by their fat and water content, while some others are not so lucky in that their skins have reduced fats as a result the skin layer is very thin and subject to cracks which admit pollutants that irritate the skin causing all the symptoms we know such as dry, scaly, red and itchy skin commonly seen around the skin creases like the elbows and behind the knees.

 

One of the best ways  to treat skins prone to eczema is by regularly applying good unperfumed emollients to areas affected, unperfumed being highlighted as perfume can be an irritant.

 Emollients are of course the widely recommended remedy because they contain fats and water  which help hydrate, soften and form a protective film that prevent pollutants being drawn into the skin. while finding the right emollient that actually suits your skin type can be a case of trial and error, the few shown above could prove useful.
