You probably started the new year with loads of new goals and ambitions for your self but are now loosing track. Well perhaps the reason you are loosing track of your goals is not because they are unachievable it could simply be a case of them being too vague with no clear cut structure on how they will be achieved in the first place. The experts recommend that when setting goals we should set them in such a way that we are actually able to measure results, take weight loss for instance don't just say I will loose 10 kilos by the end of the first quarter of the year and randomly do stuff you think will help achieve this. You know the big picture of course is to loose that amount of weight, now what we do is break down the big picture into smaller bits that are easily measurable so you can stay in track. Your smaller picture could include
- 20 sit ups before hitting the shower
- run 20 mins round the block
- 10 push ups before climbing into bed.
The essence of breaking your goals into smaller activities is that its easy to measure and you can easily keep track of progress. I mean you can ask yourself have I done my 20 sit ups today, did I run 20 mins round the block today?
