Lessons from award winning actress Lupita Nyongo'o Dress

So the dress award winning actress Lupita Nyongo'o wore to the just concluded Oscar is not after all what we all thought it to be. When news broke that the dress had been stolen from the actress' London west Hollywood hotel room, reports that the specially hand crafted Calvin Klein designed dress was worth around $150,000 made the news all sensational but after a few days the thieves returned the dress back to the hotel with claims that the pearls were fake and not worth what we had been led to believe. This reminded me of a saying I once heard  'if you call your cloth a piece of rag people will feel free to wipe the floor with it but if you say it is sacred they will ask your permission before touching'.

Life and events are all about packaging and marketing  and  most  things are not actually worth the value we have been led to believe.

You don't have to own a million dollars before you can present yourself as being worthy, Respect and place value on yourself and by this I don't mean become a condescending liar , I simply mean don't give others permission to  make you feel inferior.

Always try to project a positive and confident outlook no matter how you are feeling on the inside don't be afraid to look people in the eyes or express your own opinion because after all they are just human beings with their own personal struggles (believe me everyone have their own fair share of struggle) like you and not aliens.

Don't go about telling people the story of your life because in all honesty nobody cares at best they feel sorry for you and making people feel sorry for you is not a way to gain their respect.

Try to use all you have got to be the best you can be and present yourself like the million dollar you are because you are worth the value you place on yourself and you will get treated accordingly.
