A lot of us are often overwhelmed by the state of our houses. The battle of keeping a tidy and clutter free house seems to be endless.
From personal experience the key to winning this battle is simply to have a place for everything and immediately throw or give away what you don't need. Stop being sentimental about that pair of worn out shoes you have not worn in months or years. Instead of letting your kids books litter the floor get into a good charity shop or your local furniture shop and get your self a bookshelf, have an old box where you store all their toys, get your kids involved, teach them to clean up after themselves if old enough ( I think from 3) they should be able to return every idle toy back to the toy box.
The idea of having a place for everything cannot be over emphasised and please stop being sentimental about stuff you will probably never use again because that my friend is the key to a tidy and clutter free house.
