Pharell Williams, Robin thick and rapper T.I made over $16 million from the hit song ''Blurred lines'' in 2013, but behind the scene there have been a legal battle going on over copyrights infringements.
The children of late Marvin Gaye sued the musicians over copyright infringements alleging the lyrics of the song blurred lines were copied from their father's 70's hit song ''Got to give it Up''. In Court Robin Thick confirmed he didn't write the song while Pharell said he crafted the song under one hour.
Marvin Gaye ( the sexual healing crooner ) died in 1984 leaving the copyright ownership of his songs to his children, Nona Gaye, Marvin Pentz Gaye and Frankie Gaye.
The jury after hearing the case in a Los Angeles court decided that Pharell and Co breached copyright infringements and the judge awarded a settlement of over $7 million to Marvin Gaye's Children.
