Limex - Turning stone to paper

"LIMEX" is a novel material mainly made from limestone and PP, it is manufactured with no wood and water. The water resistant and durable product is currently used for the production of paper and plastic containers.

There is almost no petroleum required in the use of limex for plastic production and so being hailed as a sustainable green product which is environmentally friendly.

It currently takes about 20 trees and about 85 tons of water to make a ton of regular paper and so limex is hailed as a green alternative for paper and plastic production.

It is reported that greenhouse gas emissions are about 20 percent less than traditional paper printing.

Producing paper from rock is not just a novel idea — it saves water, is both recyclable and biodegradable, and its main raw material is a mineral available anywhere on Earth.

The material is smooth, like laminated paper, and is much harder to tear or bend. That makes it the ideal product for many end users.

The material can be recycled and turned into paper products or more durable items such as folders, bowls and plates.

Angry British man who threatened to bomb an independent Scotland ordered by court to pay £500 fine

Edinburgh city sheriff court ordered 43-year old Ian Thirlaway to pay the sum of £500 as fine after he pled guilty to committing a racially aggravated breach of the peace. Thirlaway who is a British oil worker flew into a fit of rage after he missed his train at the Edinburgh Waverley station. He began shouting and swearing at the staff in the train station before saying, " I hope you get independence and we have spare bombs and we can bomb the whole place". He was arrested by the British Transport Police and he continued in rage saying to the officers " I'm arrested and you let... and immigrants in here, F***ing hell. His defence lawyer told the court her client made those statements because he suffered from severe depression and when under pressure he attacked anyone and everyone.

Prison officer sentenced to 15 months in prison for engaging in sexual relationship with a prisoner

Whittaker, 52 couldn't help feeling attracted to Kongolo who is 17 years her junior Prison officer Anita Whittaker has been sentenced to a 15-month jail term for having inappropriate sexual relations with a prisoner. 52-year old Whittaker who is a mother of two admitted developing a friendship with 35-year old prisoner Kazadi Kongolo who was jailed in 1999 for stabbing a teenager to death. She said she felt vulnerable after an abusive relationship with a fellow prison officer in another prison, and the court heard how within four months the friendship developed into an intimate and sexual relationship which gradually progressed from kissing and cuddling to oral sex. The affair was uncovered after a cell phone was found hidden in Kongolo's bottom during a search of his cell by prison officers at Wormwood Scrubs which is a category B prison in Hammersmith in west London.
